Requirements to the layout of the articles published in the series «Алтаистика. Altaistics»
Authors guarantees that the papers that they submit to the editors for publication are original, previously published nowhere. Plagiarism is being checked.
Scholalry direction: Linguistics
UDC is assigned in the Scientific Library, must correspond to the scholarly direction of the article.
Title: informatively focuses the content of the article, includes the main keywords.
Abstract: it has to be structures according to the IMRAD principle – Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. Relevance, goals and objectives of a research. How the research was conducted; which methods were used. Basic conclusions, results of the research; what sort of perspectives of the research and directions of further work. The abstract must be at least 250 words. Sections “Chronicle” and “Anniversaries” are submitted without abstracts.
Keywords: at least 10, they must be laconic, represent the main idea and specifics of the article.
Title, abstract and keywords are duplicated in English. The author is responsible for the quality of the translation.
Acknowledgements: list all those who have made significant contributions to your research, but cannot be considered as co-authors, and indicate all sources of funding.
Structure of the article:
Introduction: Contains a statement of the question, brief review of the scholarly literature on the topic (links to sources), criticism of the disadvantages and advantages of the proposed approach A clear statement of the goal of the work is required.
The main body must be entitled, proceeding from the contents and divided in sections. The sections should have substantial titles. The introduction, sections and the Conclusion are not numbered.
All of the examples in English and other languages should be translated into Russian.
Conclusion – General conclusions on the substantial part are given. Avoid simply listing the material presented in the article.
Literature – is given under heading “References”. The references list is additionally duplicated in Latin according to the system of the USA Library of Congress (LC, website for transliteration: http://translit.ru). All sources are listed in the order in which the links are mentioned in the text. For periodicals, it is necessary to indicate the author's surname, initials, the title of the article, the title of the journal, the year of publication, the volume, number or issue, the starting and ending pages of the work
Information about authors (in Russian and in English) on a separate list author’s (authors’) data in are given: full name, academic degree (if any), academic title (if any), work address with index (for sending a copy to the author if they are foreigners), e-mail, contact phone number (for communication with the Editorial Board).
Article volume: up to 30 pages (illustration material and reference list inter alia), but not less than 15 pages, chronicle and anniversaries – 1-8 pages.
Article Layout Requirements
MS Word editor, A4 format, portrait orientation. Page setup: margins (top – 2.0 cm, bottom – 3.0 cm, left – 2.5 cm, right – 2.5 cm); paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm; interval – 1.5; body size – 14 (with automated word shift); abstract size – 12; font – Times New Roman.
Shortenings – are only generally accepted (in a text and in tables). All abbreviations and acronyms must be introduced the first time they are used in the text. All tables include headings and continuous numbering within the article denoted with Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1), in a text references are given in a shortened form (Tab. 1). The text of a table should be double-spaced; tables’ content should not be the same with the article’s text. In works of biological cycle, the title and the text of the table have only Latin names of species, genus and alu-families. The comment to the table comes under the table.
Formulas include continuous numeration. A number is written at the end of a line with Arabic numerals in round brackets. There should be at least 1.5 - 2 cm intervals between the formulas that are highlighted in a separate line and the text, as well as between the lines of the formulas.
Illustrated material (graphs, maps, diagrams, photographs) is named as Figures, has continuous sequential numbering in Arabic numerals and is written in abbreviated form (e.g., Fig. 1). Color images (graphs, diagrams) are accepted. The size of the figure is between 40x50 mm and 120x170 mm. The figure containing indications of the dimensions of the quantities shown in the figure, is placed under the figure.
References in the text are written as a number (Arabic numeral) in square brackets.
