Abstract
Word formation in Yakut linguistics is still one of the insufficiently developed sections. In the field of the study of the Russian word-formation system, fundamental scholarly works were published by V.V. Vinogradov, E.A. Zemskaya, E.S. Kubryakova, A.N. Tikhonov, V.N. Nemchenko, N.M. Shansky, etc.; in Turkology - by N.A. Baskakov, A.M. Shcherbak, A.N. Kononov, E.R. Tenishev, E.V. Sevortyan, M.A. Khabichev, F.A. Ganiev, etc.; in Yakut linguistics - by O. N. Böhtlingk, L.N. Kharitonov, N.K. Antonov, P.A. Sleptsov, I.B. Ivanova, etc. Affix -hyt (-hыm) in the Yakut language is a fairly used word-formation form, which denotes a person or figure for whom this subject (concept) represents the object of his occupation or profession, or constitutes his special inclination, skill, dexterity, predilection.
